A Pool Party, at the beautiful Villa Necchi Campiglio was once again selected by iconic brand Tod’s as an ideal place to host two of its main events: the celebration party for the recent launch of a capsule collection made in collaboration with the go-to on-line destination for men’s style Mr. Porter and the presentation of the next Spring/ Summer 2018 collection. When the rays of the hot sun were beaming down on the hectic city, the garden of Villa Necchi was an oasis of casual poolside glamour featuring lifeguards watching over various gathered guests from their co-branded red high-chairs. The historic pool was filled with colourful Gommini (the signature moccasins) floating inside transparent balls while the models lounged by the poolside dressed in the exclusive creations by Tod’s and Mr. Porter.
Designed by Tod’s Menswear Creative Director Andrea Incontri, the 27 piece collection consists of a relaxed and stylish color palette of bright blues, reds and whites across a range of ready-to-wear, accessories and shoes. Key pieces in the collection include an updated version of the Gommino, with its signature mark 133 rubber pebbles on the soles, suede bomber jackets and of course, a range of printed swim shorts with coordinated statement camp collar shirts made just for a summer spent under the banner of surf and sea and always with that little touch of refinement and timeless Italian style.
This summer, Tod’s chooses to stand upright with the surfing theme as a synonym of summer culture to reveal their new capsule collection. Its elegant, yet urban wardrobe made for travel that refuses to compromise on textures or attention to detail. This is the hallmark of Tod’s, combining experiments for what results in lightweight denim and refined canvas, while the leather used for safari and field jackets is designed to look like a lighter fabric.
For those who love to travel or for city dwellers, Tod’s made it clear that there are plenty of colorful Gommini loafers. In addition, the new envelope bag sports a supple new handle and the new sneaker, with its four distinctive pebbles behind the heel, has a comfortable and ergonomic feel. Ocean blue and beige are the main classic color tones to the collection, while a collection of orange bags and backpacks and a set of camouflage pieces lend a more urban and casual look to the man wearing Tod’s pieces.
